In June, we launched an exciting competition in collaboration with experimental electronic musician Kayla Painter, and we’re thrilled to share the results! Kayla has listened to all the submissions and selected her favourite track and two other standout entries.

Students were challenged to create a composition in our DAW, YuStudio, using loops from Kayla’s Artist Pack. ‘It was really exciting to hear so many creative ideas,’ said Kayla, who also took the time to give every student personalised feedback.

We are delighted to announce that Mia Lorenzo from Caister Academy submitted the winning track. Kayla praised Mia’s use of the sounds from the Artist Pack, noting how it ‘developed really well into an idea’. You can listen to Mia’s piece below or by heading over to our social media channels.

Kayla also wanted to give a shout-out to Michael Njenga and Max Harmon for their fantastic submissions.
